CLI 210 Linear Winch 100 mTon Capacity
The CLI 210 linear winch is a small to medium size linear winch, with a maximum pull force of 100 mTon, designed to work in areas with limited space, limited lifting capacity or remote location. Its small size and low weight (maximum component weight 2.500 Kg) makes it possible to transport it with light equipment.

Also this winch is often used for SCR’s and J-tube pull-ins.

General description linear winch
The linear winch consists of two grippers mounted in a frame. The wire rope passes through each gripper. Each gripper is capable of holding the wire rope. One of the grippers moves back and forth (extend and retract) through the action of two hydraulic main cylinders, the other gripper is stationary in the winch frame.

The holding action is developed by two wedges inside each gripper. If the wedges are contacting the wire rope when a load is applied to the wire rope, the wedges will clamp onto and hold the wire rope. When the movable gripper is pulling, the wire rope slips through the wedges of the other gripper.

Four hydraulic wedge cylinders control wedge movement. Extending the wedge cylinders closes the wedges. Retracting the wedge cylinders opens the wedges. Each pair of wedge cylinders is hydraulically connected in parallel to assure equal actuating forces.

Wire rope pull-in is accomplished manually or automatically by the control system. In both the manual and automatic mode, the #1 and #2 gripper wedges maintain in contact with the wire rope at all times.

Wire rope payout can also be accomplished manually or automatically. Since the wedges holding the load cannot be opened, control of the load is always maintained.

The design of an intermittent linear winch allows it to build a compact machine which is suitable to work on either offshore platforms with limited or in area’s with limited space and/or crane capacity, this type is less suitable for long beach pulls.
