For this project, the CPM 1100 linear winch, complete with all wires, reels, holdback system etc. was prepared for our customer Saipem Singapore.

The challenge of this project was the transport of the equipment to Papua New Guinea. It was not possible to ship the equipment directly to the site, therefore a stop in Singapore was required. There all the equipment was offloaded and loaded onto another vessel for final transport to Port Moresby, which is close to the landfall site.

The pipeline was a 34” diameter, 1800 meter long section gas line pulled from Saipem’s pipelay barge “Semac 1”. Due to the length of the pull the wire was split into two sections, therefore a socket pass operation was performed during the pull.

After the pull, the equipment was prepared for demobilization by the Bezemer crew, who also operated the equipment during the pull, and shipped back by Saipem to The Netherlands.
